The team at Lionbridge Technologies, are recruiting an Application Validation Engineer to join its Global App Validation team.

In this role you will be responsible for performing software validation on apps developed specifically for the Microsoft Office Store. Experience of installing, configuring and administration testing environments is required for this role, as an environment setup is required for the validation of each app. You will be required to review and comprehend technical third-party applications and make recommendations on each application using provided test criteria. You will be expected to execute on many test cases per app validation, ranging from both content review, language validation in your native language and enforcement of the Office Store Policies and the technical requirements for each Policy. Experience in SharePoint online plus any or all the Microsoft Office client applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Exchange, and Access is required. Good interpretation and problem-solving skills are required with a track record of meeting deadlines with the ability to multi task effectively and adapt to a fast-paced work environment. You should have a strong understanding and practical application of testing methodologies.

Responsibilities:

* Installation, configuration and administration of Test Environments using Microsoft Technologies.
* Installation and configuration of apps for Office and SharePoint.
* Configuration of Office applications such as Excel, Word, Project, Outlook and SharePoint online will be required to test customer applications.
* Review and comprehend third party customer applications and make recommendations on each application against specific criteria.
* Meet customer SLA's regarding productivity for apps validated per day while maintaining low error and escalation counts as per agreed metrics.
* Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 validation team answering escalation queries and helping troubleshoot environment issues etc.
* Expected to lead by example regarding app validation throughput and productivity
* Expected to be an area expert for complex SharePoint apps
* Responsibility for team throughput and validation quality for the onsite Tier 1 validation team
* Participate in Test project reviews for projects and communicate findings to customer teams both internally & externally based on each scenario validated.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written to document results and rejection reports for developers.

Technical Skills & Expectations:

* Knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Office applications is required including Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, Exchange, Access, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge and practical experience using SharePoint
* Experience in SharePoint administration a distinct advantage including:
* SharePoint online PWA & advanced Project configuration
* SharePoint Administration, user management etc.
* SharePoint Site Collection administration
* SharePoint search/term store management
* SharePoint workflow creation/configuration


* SharePoint designer (client)
* Experience of setting up and testing on virtual machines.
* Troubleshoot tools, environment and app functional issues on multiple environments.
* Assist in the development and updating of training content.
* Knowledge and experience of Industry standard bug logging tools is required.
* Understanding of Web Development technologies such as basic CSS, HTML & JavaScript.

Skills & Experience:

* Working knowledge of other languages an advantage.
* Minimum 2 years working in a software testing environment.
* A good understanding of software development processes with demonstrated proficiency in executing test cases, issue logging and tracking through to resolution and close.
* Have the ability to prioritize analyze productivity, manage SLA's and meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail: be methodical and organized with the ability to multi task effectively and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
* Experience of working within technical testing teams with good collaborative skills.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience in configuring complex software applications.
* Admin skills within SharePoint (SharePoint Central administration, Configuring SharePoint pages, Enable / Disable Web parts, creating and managing Workflows etc.)
* Strong analytical problem-solving skills & troubleshooting hardware and software applications.
* Web development experiences a distinct advantage.
* Possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
