CVS Health is seeking a Senior Advisor, Analytics Data Engineering to further enhance Enterprise Analytics support of the big data initiatives of the organization. This candidate will be responsible for data engineering planning and execution of high impactful projects that lead to actionable insight generation through big data advanced analytics like predictive analytics and machine learning. Candidate should have the aptitude to learn new technologies, ready to push the boundaries in solving real business problems.

Position requires strong understanding of Hadoop distributed systems, experience in using open source framework, knowledge of data warehouse architectures, excellent communications skills and coordination/follow through skills. Ideal candidate will have to lead analytics data engineering team, partner with the Architects, SMEs and PMO to ensure successful delivery of the project.

Individual has to ensure that the technical activities are delivered against quality, financial and time commitments and meets business objectives.

This position is based out of our Irving, TX office and will report to the Director, Data Strategy, and Enterprise Analytics within the Enterprise Analytics organization. A successful candidate will: Design, develop & maintain reports, dashboards, data-marts, scalable data models and data strategy processes using Tableau, Teradata, Hadoop; Support existing analytical products and update based on enterprise IT initiatives of source database upgrades, migrations and consolidations; Ensure data flowing in & out of the database systems meets standards, business rule, data definition, data integrity constraints and data governance practices; Ingest & integrate new data sources into enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and Data Lake by designing pipelines with large amount of data using UNIX, Hadoop, Spark, Oracle etc; Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) of tables, views, reports, proactively interact with business users and gather business requirements, converting them into functional and technical documents; Design technical prototypes/proposals of Teradata extracts, Hadoop jobs, UNIX shell processes, database design and optimization, architecting tables, views, pipelines etc.; Provide architecture and solutioning help in large scale distributed systems, especially those involving Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases and analytical programming languages (Python/R); Provide detailed estimations with assumptions to implement the solutions; Present solutions/approach, estimations etc. to leadership and steering committee; Document and lead design reviews, provide inputs to the design changes; Contribute during the design workshops on Hadoop based data management and job flows; Explore new technologies in the big data domain; Provide day to day guidance and coaching to direct reports to ensure their success in assigned activities and objectives; Automate and deploy analytics project in production; Provide clear problem descriptions and guidance to senior business management in a time critical environment; Manage customer expectations through effective communication of timely status updates; Take ownership of own work as well as teams, and be accountable for the quality of work done; Work with PMO, Business and IT stake holders on multiple projects/programs and large initiatives.

Required Qualifications

A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Information Systems, Computer Science, a related Engineering discipline, or a related technical field and three years of experience in the architecture, design, and/or development of analytics applications, including integration activities. Additionally, three years of experience managing the cross-functional delivery of analytics projects across multiple platforms; developing and implementing Hadoop projects; engaging with business intelligence and analytics solution architectures; working with modern machine learning tools, approaches, algorithms, libraries, and processes for feature selection/engineering; and utilizing monitoring technologies, big data backup strategies, and virtualization environments required. Caremark, LLC will accept a Bachelor's degree and six years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree and three years of experience. Must apply by 08-08-19.
