* Provide network security and firewall services support, incident and problem management for the Orange County Sheriff Department reporting to OCSD management. * Respond to operational requests day to day and act as the primary point of escalation for incident resolution. * Working closely with OCSD network engineers and management: review new service and firewall requests, respond quickly to incidents and operational outages, manage the security ticket queue and assist with operational and process improvements to ensure SLR's are met. * Report regular status of service requests and operational incidents to the OCSD management team. * This Role Performs at the direction of the OCSD managers and network engineers.
The job responsibilities could include:
* Review and completion of service requests * Review and completion of firewall requests * Respond to requests for firewall policy information and to assist troubleshooting firewall related issues * Management of all network equipment supporting the OCSD network for both project and operational requirements * Monitor and resolve network security incidents on a 24X7 basis * The position maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and security hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls and gateways
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree and Two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. HS Diploma and/or Equivalent will be considered in lieu of degree with an additional 4+ years of relevant experience. * Strong experience with Cisco Systems Network, Security and Datacenter products * Experience supporting firewall technologies (Cisco ASA Firewalls) * Experience supporting large enterprise networks * Strong background with Service and Change Management (ServiceNow) * Candidates will be required to pass a Live Scan Background investigation including Fingerprint which will be used for criminal and identity background check as permitted by law.
Desired Qualifications:
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security * CompTIA Security + * Ability to present very complex technical concepts in understandable language * Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills * Experience creating and presenting project plans and designs
