The Middle Mile Products & Technology organization builds complex software solutions that work across our vendors, warehouses and carriers to optimize both time & cost of getting the packages delivered. Our services already handle thousands of requests per second, make business decisions impacting billions of dollars a year, integrate with a network of small and large carriers, owner operators and drivers worldwide, manage business rules for millions of unique products, and improve ordering and delivery experience for millions of online shoppers. That said, this remains a fast growing business and our technical journey has only started. The Amazon Middle Mile Planning & Optimization team is looking for a technically-skilled Software Development Manager to join our team. In this role you will build and lead a team of talented engineers. You will be responsible for scoping and delivering large projects end to end. Responsibilities include collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, writing technical specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts across multiple teams to develop optimal solutions.

The right candidate will possess a strong technical leadership background and will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.
