Job Description

The Prime Video Discovery team aggregates and delivers personalized Home, Search and Detail pages to Web, iOS, Android, Living Room and FireTV. Our team is at the heart of the customer journey to find content throughout the catalog of movies, TV, prime originals. Discovery is also a critical component of Amazon's launch of channels and live events like Thursday Night Football and CBS All Access.

Every session across all devices begins with a call to Discovery for a ready-to-render view of personalized content for the customer. Discovery is a Tier-1 system at Amazon that must be highly available and low-latency with Amazon complexity and scale. Candidates will have experience designing, building and operating Tier-1 software systems with intelligent back-off and fallback components.

Discovery is also used by a variety of devices with different capabilities - from 2010 Smart TVs to the latest Fire TV. The API design must support flexibility across devices and platforms while still standardizing common functionality. Candidates must have strong understanding of API Design standards and tradeoffs.

As a member of the Discovery team you will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior engineers from Web, iOS, Android, FireTV, Channels, Live Events and Personalization teams to drive cross-system designs. Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-visibility, fast-paced role.
