Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning enable delightful and natural experiences for customers of Alexa. In the Distributed Machine Learning team within Alexa AI, we build systems to accelerate the pace of innovation in these fields.

The team is building distributed, secure, GPU-accelerated infrastructure used by Amazon research scientists working on Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU). Our massively parallel computing platform drives rapid and safe experimentation in the development of new features and models. We are in need of a Software Development Engineer with a strong sense of ownership and high quality bar to join us in this exciting new technology space!

For internal candidates, this is a great opportunity to exercise your distributed systems experience in an exciting technology domain and dynamic business space. Expertise in Machine Learning (ML) is not necessary, but strong candidates will be excited to learn ML tools and concepts to better serve scientists and modelers in Alexa, who are our immediate customers.

The Alexa deep learning platform team is hiring! The team is building a distributed, secure, GPU-accelerated deep learning stack for speech recognition and the underlying massively parallel computing platform behind Alexa. As a technical leader in the team, you will design and implement critical components, help define the architectural vision, collaborate with partner teams across the organization, and mentor and develop more junior engineers.
