Scrum Master

Location: San Francisco CA

Duration: 6 months Possible contract to hire

Manager is looking for:

* As a Scrum Master at client, you will take an active role in our teams to guide members in the best practices of Agile methodology. This guidance is particularly important as our company begins its journey to achieve a high level of maturity in Agile. Your extensive background in leading Agile projects guided by the principles and practices of Agile will enable you to fulfill this role.
* Ideally, you have an extensive background tackling challenging situations across a variety of team sizes and levels of Agile maturity. You should be capable of providing clear, effective leadership in the conduct of the most common Agile processes and ceremonies. Also, if you have experience in settings where you provided this guidance during Agile transformation situations, that would be a plus.

Responsibilities

* Facilitate daily scrums, stand-ups, and meetings to monitor progress and resolve any issues the team may be experiencing
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, application users, and product owners
* Oversee and manage scope, timeline, quality, goals and deliverables that support business goals
* Oversee design, implementation, QA, and validation of programming code and products
* Remove obstacles and develop solutions with the teams' cooperation
* Teach the concepts of user story definition, velocity and burndown metrics to all staff
* Document progress and communicate to upper management and stakeholders
* Take responsibility for successful product delivery
* Guide your teams to a culture of focus, improving the organization of their work through sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives throughout a project life cycle
* Form partnerships across departments to streamline work processes and improve the speed at which the company can respond to, and capitalize on opportunities

Qualifications

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
* Scrum Master certification required - Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Certified Product Owner (CSPO)
* 3 - 5 years of experience in information technology (IT) project management required
* 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or similar role
* At least two years of experience with exercising Agile methodology
* Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
* Must possess the ability to explain intricate and complicated concepts and ideas
* Must possess the ability to work well with many different kinds of people, departments, and divisions
* Strong knowledge of Scrum, Agile and Lean methodologies
* Strong leadership skills and experience
* Aptitude in leveraging HTML, CSS and JavaScript
* 4 years of experience with Agile Practices, Patterns and Techniques
* 4 years of experience in Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games etc.
* Must possess a sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success
* Great interpersonal and communication skills
