Job Description
We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Scrum Master (Agile Project Manager). The person in this role will be responsible for creating a high performing software development team. This position is responsible for facilitating all scrum ceremonies, coaching and mentoring members, helping the Product Owner manage the backlog and release planning.
Job Responsibilities:
* Will perform as an Agile Coach working across the program portfolio to help increase the agile maturity of the software development teams; Will help improve, manage, and grow the agile process
* Will collaborate closely with distributed teams of product managers, developers (onshore & offshore), and QA testers to resource, define, and schedule activities required to develop and launch new software.
* Responsible for driving effective scrum ceremonies including daily scrum, backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives
* Responsible for tracking and distributing relevant metrics and reports periodically to show team progress and velocity
* Identify and understand impediments and help remove them and drive improvements to optimize how the team works
* Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining(aka grooming) and managing the product backlog; help Product Owner to manage customer expectations and stakeholder communications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Demonstrated experience with widely successful agile methods and techniques: Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework, Kanban etc.
* Excellent servant leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and coach high performing software development teams
* Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
* Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously without impact to quality of work
* Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with external vendors, internal partners
* Ability to communicate with senior and executive management.
* Demonstrated strength in problem definition and resolution
* Moderate to expert-level knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Jira Agile, Confluence) to measure team productivity and report metrics
Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree (Ideally in Business or Computer Science/Engineering)
* One or more related certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
* 4 yrs. of project management experience in technical development or consulting environment
* 3 yrs. of experience playing Scrum master/Agile Project Manager especially in large programs involving multiple scrum teams
* Experience in a waterfall-to-agile transition is a plus
