Job Description

We are looking for a highly-skilled Senior Principal Research Scientist seeking work in a fast-paced research and development environment. Leveraging your background in navigation and hardware, you will work closely with other subject matter experts and software engineers to create and improve a broad range of technologies. Relevant sensor domains include, but are not limited to, inertial, electro-optics, infrared, radar, and sonar. You must be able to lead an effort to understand and develop new technologies, prototyping new algorithms and assisting in their implementation.

The ideal candidate will also assist in marketing and business development efforts to include customer presentations and proposal writing. Significant opportunities for career advancement exist and candidates with strong potential for advancement are preferred.

BAE Systems FAST LabsTM is an entrepreneurial organization that performs R&D for customers in the defense and intelligence communities. Our group focuses on architectures, hardware, algorithm, and software system development for navigation.

We are based in Burlington, MA, and are part of a 1979 MIT spin-out company that was acquired by BAE Systems in 2004, which has since grown to more than 300 researchers, system engineers, and software developers, over 70 percent of whom hold advanced engineering and science degrees.
