Centauri is currently seeking a computer scientist to support the Na tional Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration 's (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Services (NESDIS) GOES-R Ground System Project at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD . The candidate will implement new algorithms and provide updates to existing ones in support of the NOAA Product Readiness for Operations (PRO) team . The candidate will develop code on the GOES-R Ground System at locations in College Park, MD and Suitland, MD, in addition to working in Greenbelt.

Requirements :

Minimum 3 years' experience in the development and implementation of meteorological satellite ground system algorithms.
Bachelor's degree in computer science; or equivalent experience .

Fluency in Fortran 90/95, C, and C++
Experience in migration of remote sensing and meteorological algorithms from Fortran to C/C++
Experience with recent NOAA satellite ground system algorithm development and operationalization
E xperienced and capable of hosting/participating in technical meetings and discussions, to include technical presentations.

Desired Skills:

Master's degree in e ngineering or Computer Science
Experience with NOAA/NESDIS policies, processes, and organization

Travel: Up to 25% travel may be required .

Security Requirements: Must meet eligibility requirements for access to NOAA Programs.
