For more than 60 years, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has applied science and technology to make the world a safer place.

We have have an opening for a Scheduler. You will be responsible for a subproject schedule as part of the scheduling team, will partner with Project Management, work closely with their Control Account Managers and technical leads, and contribute to all phases of program planning from inception through completion. You will also act as the subproject point of contact for schedule coordination with the Master Schedulers, the W80-4 Program Office, and the Project Controls team. This position is in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED), within the Engineering Directorate and will support the Nuclear Weapons W80-4 Life Extension Program (LEP).

This position will be filled at either the Q01.3 or Q01.4 level depending on your qualifications. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if you are selected at the higher level.

Essential Duties

* Contribute to the development of planning and scheduling work processes, tools, and procedures included in the project controls system.
* Develop, review, advise, and supervise set-up and implementation of planning and scheduling applications.
* Understand, provide training, and implement advanced scheduling and earned value management systems.
* Define activities and associated scope, activity durations, logic, and interface between activities and resource loading activities.
* Maintain, review, advise, and supervise production and status of schedule network data.
* Ensure integrity of schedules and compliance with processes and procedures.
* Monitor schedule performance data, develop complex data analysis, and issue schedule reports required by management and project procedures.
* Develop schedule variance analysis.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

In Addition at the Q01.4 Level

* Oversee production and status of schedule milestones and networks ensuring integrity and compliance of schedule data using horizontal/vertical traceability methods.
* Responsible for integration of all project activities and total work scope for identification and maintenance of project critical path.
* Perform and maintain baseline change control management processes and logs.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant functional discipline or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
* Complete knowledge of and experience using schedule software tools such as Primavera.
* Experience and proven skills in directing, planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
* Complete understanding of general project controls technical skills.
* Experience with project controls system, earned value management system for planning, organizing, performing, reviewing, and presenting schedule and data.
* Experience planning and scheduling products independently with minimal supervision using knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills.
* Effective written and verbal communication and negotiation skills necessary to communicate with multidisciplinary team members and influence outcomes.

In Addition at the Q01.4 Level

* Experience with directing, planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
* Expert level understanding of general project controls technical skills and the integration of all of the components of an Earned Value Management System.
* Expert knowledge and experience in using project controls tools such as Primavera, MS Project, or other scheduling program, and expert knowledge using Microsoft Office tools.

Desired Qualifications

* Familiar with DoD 5000 and NNSA 6.x acquisition processes.
* Program Management Professional certification/license.
* Familiar with Project Management tools, including Primavera, Cobra, Acumen Fuze, Risk and 360, wInsight, ARM, and DOORS.

Pre-Placement Medical Exam: A job related pre-placement medical examination may be required.

Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance: This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.
