For more than 60 years, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has applied science and technology to make the world a safer place.

We have multiple openings for a Scheduler to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work with various project managers to provide the data necessary to effectively manage multiple infrastructure projects and provide input for federal reporting requirements. These positions are in the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED), within the Engineering Directorate. DTED supports the Weapons Infrastructure Program, within the Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) Principal Directorate.

These positions will be filled at either the Q01.1 or Q01.2 level depending on your qualifications. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if you are selected at the higher level.

Essential Duties

* Coordinate with Control Account Manager or Work Package Manager to define activities and associated scope, activity durations, logic, and interface between activities and resource loading activities.
* Assist in the development of project controls work processes, tools, and procedures included in the project controls system.
* Maintain, review, advise, and supervise production and status of schedule network data.
* Ensure integrity of technical schedules and compliance with processes and procedures.
* Monitor schedule performance data, develop data analysis, and issue schedule reports required by management and project procedures.
* Develop schedule variance analysis.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

In Addition at the Q01.2 Level

* Perform schedule-based activities, including schedule development, rolling wave planning, and schedule statusing.
* Prepare and present presentations of project schedule, and milestone risks at general and formal meetings, such as Functional Management Reviews, Integrated Baseline Reviews, and at LLNL/NNSA program reviews.
* Maintain, review, and act as a liaison with Project Managers of schedule and monthly spend plan projected vs. actual data.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant functional discipline or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
* Basic understanding of general project controls technical skills.
* Basic knowledge of scheduling and earned value computer applications.
* Experience planning and scheduling products using knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate, contribute, and be a part of a multi-disciplinary team.

In Addition at the Q01.2 Level

* Experience performing statistical analysis and computer operations and using Microsoft Excel formulas/functions, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Knowledge of and experience with a project controls system, earned value management systems for planning, organizing, performing, reviewing, and presenting cost data.
* Experience pulling information from various sources into a presentation; experience working effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.

Desired Qualifications

* Program Management Professional certification/license.
* Familiar with the Project Management tools, which includes MS Project and/or Primavera P6.
* Extensive knowledge and usage of MS Excel advanced functions such as pivot tables, worksheet, and data manipulations and graphing.

Pre-Placement Medical Exam: A job related pre-placement medical examination may be required.

Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance: This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.

Note: This is an At Will appointment. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position.
