Salesforce System Administrator Manager, School of Business

The George Mason University, School of Business is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Salesforce System Administrator Manager. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the School's Salesforce integration with both internal and third-party systems. This is a full-time classified staff position with full benefits.

Responsibilities:

The Salesforce System Administrator Manager position has responsibilities in the following areas:

Management & Administration which includes:

* Building out and scaling our Salesforce instance across the School of Business;
* Designing, developing, and configuring customized solutions using the full Salesforce toolset, including custom objects and fields, validation rules, workflows, and approval processes;
* Developing, creating and managing customized reports and dashboards as needed;
* Work cross-functionally to maintain and improve upon Salesforce integrations with both internal and third party systems;
* Working with end users to understand needs and incorporate processes (workflows, tasks, and dashboards);
* Developing and managing technical solutions as needed, integrating supporting technologies, and managing the solution life cycle;
* Coordinating with various teams to develop system enhancements/functionality, and provide day-to-day project management for application-related initiatives; and;
* Managing the budget and overseeing procurement for Salesforce system upgrades and third-party applications.



Technical support which includes:

* Assessing and implementing Salesforce software releases;
* Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for technical designs, projecting plans, deployments, and training documents;
* Troubleshooting user issues as they occur;
* Working with the School of Business IT team to ensure updates from the University system run effectively;
* Providing technical support on marketing campaigns using Marketing Cloud or Journey builder; and
* Managing user permissions and operational governance.



Cross-functional Team Collaboration which includes:

* Leveraging Salesforce resources to continue to support and drive the School's initiatives;
* Working to continuously identify process improvements in reporting, analytics, and performance metrics within the Salesforce environment;
* Working cross functionally to ensure tools and processes are optimized to meet current and future business requirements; and
* Meeting with teams regularly to discuss and resolves Salesforce challenges and new initiatives.



Training and Industry Research which includes:

* Providing training as needed to new and existing School of Business faculty and staff;
* Collaborating with Salesforce colleagues throughout the University to share best practices and stay informed regarding University-adopted technologies;
* Seeking input from faculty, staff, and administration on emerging needs and developing solutions; and
* Keeping abreast of new Salesforce features and functionality.



Supervise Junior Salesforce Administrator which includes:

* Supervising and developing of the Junior Salesforce Administrator which includes selecting, motivating, and evaluating to assist professional development and effectiveness; proactively providing opportunities for them to develop and showcase their abilities and accomplishments.



Training, Documentation, and Industry Research:

* Overseeing and participating in the creation of technical documentation on customized solutions;
* Providing training as needed to new and existing business school faculty and staff;
* Collaborating with Salesforce colleagues throughout the University to share best practices and stay informed regarding university-adopted technologies;
* Seeking input from faculty, staff, and administration on emerging needs and developing solutions; and
* Keeping abreast of new Salesforce features and functionality.



Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in IT or related field;
* Salesforce Administration Certification or equivalent;
* Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, database expertise, and e-mail and network applications;
* Ability to commute to both Fairfax and Arlington campuses;
* Extremely strong analytical and communication skills.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently, but collaborate effectively; and
* Good citizenship and the ability to work well with colleagues.



Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in a higher education environment;
* Demonstrated experience in Salesforce administration;
* Extensive experience with database design;
* Experience with report design consolidation, report optimization and process management;
* Experience analyzing and documenting different system flows, process flows and work flows;
* Experience in application implementation including design, build, test, and deployment;
* Experience in data migration/bulk data loading into Salesforce desired;
* Experience with handling Salesforce integrations and Marketing Cloud;
* Excellent communication, analytical, strategic thinking and organizational skills;
* Proactive problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to motivate, and ability to learn new tasks quickly; and
* Ability to support and work in a project development and support environment with ability to diagnose and solve problems quickly.
