Job Description

The Salesforce Administrator is a subject matter expert and has a key role in supporting the use of Salesforce as the enterprise level Customer Relationship Management (CRM). The Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations to include maintaining the configurations, developing and maintaining data extraction and data loading, ensuring data is being exchanged between integrated systems (e.g., Outlook, Cisco Call Manager, Pardot, etc.), managing user access, and integration with AppExchange components when the initial set of functions and features need to be expanded. The Administrator also functions as the liaison between Information Technology and Education Services, Industry and Workforce Services, and Corporate Communications to ensure the application meets their needs and stays current with business operations, policies, and processes. On an on-going basis, the incumbent manages the evolution of the Salesforce platform to meet the Clearinghouse's evolving business needs.

How You Contribute:

* Working as a Salesforce Administrator by enhancing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the system to keep the system operating in a secure and efficient manner.
* Working as a Business Analyst with business teams in understanding business requirements and translating them into deployable technical solutions.
* Partnering with App Exchange product implementation teams to facilitate the integration of third party tools with Salesforce.
* Performing administration of App Exchange products that have been integrated with the Clearinghouse's instance of Salesforce.
* Extracting, transforming, and loading data to Salesforce as well as establishing and maintaining data exchange between Salesforce and external systems.

What You Bring to the Table:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A combination of education and experience including through military service, will also be considered.
* 3 years of Salesforce administration experience, plus 3 additional years of experience in Salesforce and/or a Business Analyst role with exposure to the software development, change management, and support processes.
* Proficiency in:
* Conducting system administrative tasks such as: profile creation/management, role based security, workflow management, user access management, and resource utilization/monitoring.
* Extracting, transforming, and loading data to Salesforce.
* Troubleshooting and providing resolution in both production and lower environments.
* Microsoft Office Suite.


* Demonstrated ability in:
* Software development life cycle
* Leveraging and instituting Salesforce best practices.
* Establishing and maintaining data exchange between Salesforce and external systems.
* Partnering with internal business teams, understanding business requirements, and translating them into workflows, designs, and technical solutions.
* Multitasking, working under pressure, and working creatively in a fast-paced environment.
* Problem solving and conducting root cause analysis.


* Experience understanding, manipulating and using data in business processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Live within a commutable distance of Herndon, VA.

Desired:

* Certification as a Salesforce Administrator.
* Experience with integrating third party software (e.g., AppExchange components) into Salesforce.
* Experience with APEX.
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.

Physical Demands:

* Use of a computer terminal and/or laptop computer for 8 or more hours a day.
* Use of a copy machine, fax machine, and telephone.
* Frequently required to sit for 7 or more hours per day in close proximity to others in an open office environment.
* Occasionally required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and reach.
* Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
