Overview

Selective Insurance is looking for a results-oriented Developer to support, enhance, and expand Selective's robotic process automation (RPA) program. This role will be critical to the success of the program since it will have responsibility for both identifying technical solutions as well as implementing the application. As a member of our RPA team, you will develop software deployments and build end-user robotic process automation leveraging machine learning models utilizing automation tools such as WorkFusion to create a digital automation workforce.

The ideal candidate for this position must possess a strong technical background, thrive in our fast-paced environment, and effectively communicate across multiple teams as you build enterprise-wide RPA implementations.

Responsibilities

* Work with application architects, enterprise architects, and senior development staff to define and design the future state target application architecture for the new application.
* Create system design, develop, and test (unit, integration, etc.) code in accordance with development team standards.
* Actively reduce technical debt across the application throughout the project life cycle.
* Identify any technical risks or gaps within the system and recommend alternate mitigation approaches.
* Partner with other IT teams to advance the technical requirements of the system. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the key IT teams.
* Work with key business stakeholders to understand business needs and identify new solutions to key business needs.
* Openly share ideas on new approaches with the team and mentor other team members on development best practices.

Qualifications

Required

* Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science
* Two years of previous experience in software engineering and design
* Computer Science OP fundamentals, Algorithms, Data Structures, Design Patterns.
* Proficiency in Java / J2EE
* Knowledge of UI, XML, HTML, CSS, XPATH, JavaScript
* Experience working with SQL or relational databases such as MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
* Strong communication skills, analytical and problem solving

Preferred

* Experience with WorkFusion or other process automation technologies (Blue Prism, UIPath, Automation Anywhere)
* Experience with Selenium & Test Automation Tools
* Experience in Machine Learning
* Experience Programming in JavaScript, C#, Python
* Working knowledge of App & Web Servers: Tomcat, Ngnix, Apache, Windows
* Working experience of Git/SVN version control repositories
* Solid working knowledge of Unix & Linux commands
* RESTful Web Services & solid understanding of SOAP
* Proficiency with frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, Angular, React
* Performance optimization & JVM Tuning
* Groovy & Web Harvest
