Robotics Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

Grifols USA LLC is seeking a Robotics Systems Engineer for the Los Angeles location to support the KIRO® oncology robotic technology from an engineering perspective.

Essential Job Duties:

* Manage and coordinate the implementation of the Hospital Division's robotics technology.
* Coordinate and schedule the complete installation project of Hospital Division's products at the customer's site within the US & Canada in order to achieve optimal system functionality.
* Implement, configure, maintain and troubleshoot diverse robotics technology that support the automated compounding of hazardous sterile preparations, with special focus on the Kiro Oncology system that prepares injectable intravenous chemotherapy.
* Research, design, develop, and test robotic applications. Review or approve designs, calculations, or cost estimates.
* Assess oncology compounding pharmacy cleanrooms for appropriateness of installing Kiro Oncology according to the technical requirements of the device.
* Responsible for preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of Kiro Oncology System and other Hospital Division's technologies in an aseptic and cytotoxic environment.
* Apply experience in 6-axis articulated robotic systems. Program and debug Beckhoff PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and Stäubli Robots. Program and debug Computer Vision Systems. Program and configure VisionPro software and Basler vision cameras with their respective lighting system.
* Monitor and calibrate automated systems, industrial control systems, and system components to maximize efficiency of utilization.
* Contribute to the development of software based training materials, technical documentation and other initiatives in collaboration with other Engineers, Engineering Manager, Project implementation Manager and Marketing Director.
* Install online monitoring systems for entire pharmacy cleanrooms in hospitals. The data is collected and transferred to the pharmacy staff. Work onsite and remotely to provide technical support for robotic systems.
* Analyze issues by running diagnostics, review error logs and provide guidance to local maintenance team and other Field Service Engineers.
* Collaborate on the physical installation of Kiro Oncology, complete software installation & configuration, and customer application training. Train new field service engineers to work with Kiro Oncology System in a hospital cleanroom environment.
* Participate in special research and development assignments to develop future device enhancements.
* Responsible for the Kiro Oncology device startup and installation at exhibitions in the U.S.
* Install online monitoring systems for entire pharmacy cleanrooms in hospitals. Perform startup and installation of mobile air decontamination units in hospital cleanrooms.
* Support the Hospital Division Sales network on product demonstrations via WebEx or at the customer site to provide deeper technical knowledge and expertise when necessary.
* Travel (50%) to hospital sites throughout the U.S. Travel (50%) required to hospital sites throughout the U.S.

Job Requirements:

* Candidate must have a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Robotics Engineering or engineering related field.
* Must be able to travel 50% of the time to hospital sites throughout the U.S.
* Must have three years' experience in the following:
* Development, implementation and configuration of diverse robotic technology that supports the automated compounding of hazardous sterile preparations for oncology pharmacy cleanrooms
* Programming and debugging Beckhoff PLCs and Stäubli Robots; programming and debugging computer vision systems, specifically programming and configuring VisionPro software and Basler vision cameras with their respective lighting system
* Experience in preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance in an aseptic and cytotoxic environment
* Providing technical support, analyzing issues by running diagnostics, and reviewing error logs
* Providing guidance to maintenance teams
* Experience in assessing compound pharmacy cleanrooms for appropriateness of installation according to the technical requirements of the devices
* Experience in project management for new device installations for cleanrooms.
