Robotics Systems Engineer

Maxar Space Solutions is looking for a Systems Engineer with a robotics background. This position provides the opportunity to become an expert in systems engineering while applying best practices to programs involving robotics. You will participate in architecting and verifying robotic solutions at the systems level through requirements generation and flow down, ensuring the mission needs are satisfied.

Job Description: At Maxar - Space Solutions Group, Systems Engineers have the following day-to-day responsibilities:

* Concept of operations development and validation
* Develop, decompose, and flow requirements at mission, system, sub-system, and component levels
* Develop full system validation and verification plan
* Generate and maintain compliance matrix for system and sub-systems
* Coordinate the integration of flight robotic systems to spacecraft bus systems with various vendors
* Explore new business opportunities that capitalize on Maxar's strengths through the support of proposals or research and development projects

Job Requirements:

* BS in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering
* 7-9 years of relevant experience. With an MS, 5-7 years of exprience
* Systems engineering experience in electro-mechanical systems
* Experience working with Requirements Management Systems (i.e. DOORS, JAMA, DOORSNext Gen) to capture and flow down requirements, document compliance, and verification methods and requirements.
* Risk management for robotic operations, including contingency planning, hazard analysis, and failure assessment
* Forward and inverse robot kinematics analysis
* Develop robotic mission concept of operations
* Architect and develop real-time ground operations for on-orbit robotic systems
* Robotic motion dynamics analysis
* Robotic operation planning and coordination
* Experience working with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tool
* Software tool development for simulation and analysis
* Experience with controls software, algorithms, and analysis
* Robotic workspace situational awareness
* Real-time mission operations experience for robotic systems
* Guidance, navigation, and controls analysis (path planning)
* Processor and IC requirements
