About Accenture Operations Research Program:

Our research and development program focuses on creating business value for our clients by embedding Artificial Intelligence solutions in our cross-industry offerings like Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Supply Chain, Talent HR and industry-specific offerings like Health, Network, Utilities, and Credit Services.

The research and development group operates in a global collaborative model across Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai (India), San Jose (USA) along with strategic internal partnership with Accenture Technology (including Technology Labs), Accenture Digital (including advanced analytics) and key research alliances with universities like MIT, Stanford University, CMU, Columbia University, UIUC, and UC Berkeley.

As we create new services embedded in our offerings by leveraging machine learning, machine reasoning, natural language processing, predictive and advanced structured and unstructured data analytics, our research and development group undertakes strategic projects that will disrupt and shape the future of offerings and build prototypes that demonstrate how advances in technology will change the way we do business in the next 2 to 5 years.

About the role:

The Research and Development team in Operations follows a multi-pronged approach for project execution: from adapting existing assets like Accenture Insight Platform to Operations use cases, exploring third-party and open source solutions for speed to execution and for specific use cases, engage in fundamental research to develop novel solutions. We leverage the vast global network of Accenture to collaborate with Accenture Tech Labs, Accenture Open Innovation and Accenture Analytics for creating solutions.

The R&D manager will work as part of an R&D lead's team, help create and lead projects, represent the team with clients, work with business subject matter experts and technology delivery teams to deliver strategic AI-powered products and services from design to execution.

The R&D manager works on the entire lifecycle of a research and development project - defining the design with the R&D lead, collaborating with business experts for business understanding, supporting business value potential identification, managing research consultants and platform engineers and working with technology teams for prototyping and client pilot implementations.

The R&D manager is also expected to contribute to Accenture's internal and external publications and be co-author with lead researchers on publications in leading journals and participation in relevant conferences.
