At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home to three Nobel laureates, interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists seek new and innovative ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. The Center's five scientific divisions collaborate to form a unique environment for conducting basic and applied science. Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division (VIDD) works to eliminate or minimize the impact of globally significant infectious diseases. Within VIDD is the Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research & Prevention (SCHARP), which provides statistical support and data management to researchers worldwide in the fight against HIV/AIDS with active studies in the U.S., Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. The Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research and Prevention (SCHARP) at Fred Hutch is seeking a Reports Analyst I to assist in the definition and technical documentation of the requirements and specifications of reports to be implemented by the clinical data management and analytics programming staff. Also under general supervision Reports Analyst I will support in developing as well as testing of codes and reports.

Responsibilities

Responsitilities may include:

* Participate in reporting workshops with internal and external stakeholders to author report requirements and develop specifications.
* Create data dictionaries and map annotated reporting specifications to database structures
* Create and maintain report design documentation
* Create standard, study-specific, and ad hoc reports with high attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
* Develop and maintain a library of data and reporting documentation including but not limited to, data dictionaries, report catalogs, report style guide, and user stories.
* Document requirements related to all data and reporting needs such as dashboards, scorecards, reports, ad hoc queries, and other data needs.
* Build actionable dashboards, data listings, scorecards for stakeholders by comprehending business requirements to derive actionable KPIs
* Contribute to identifying and developing standardized content to gain operational efficiencies
* Test and debug programs and maintain version control on production programs and scripts
* Use standard methodology to document requirements and specifications.
* Ensure no previously recorded report requests exists creating redundant effort.
* Create user acceptance testing (UAT) criteria for reports. Validate reports against UAT criteria
* Generate, document, and maintain intermediary datasets

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 6 months related experience in data science or computer science or a scientific, technical, or health-related field
* 6 months of experience as a business analyst or related experience (e.g. data analytics) and developing reports using an enterprise reporting tool such as Business Objects, Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services, Oracle Reports, Spotfire
* Working knowledge of relational database management system
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a matrix management environment as a member of several project teams

Preferred qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in data science or computer science or a scientific, technical, or health-related field
* Experience working in a biomedical laboratory and/or experience with clinical trials and data management
* Working knowledge of Medidata Rave EDC (or equivalent experience with other EDC system)
* Knowledge of and experience in programming for scientific research.
* Experience in good clinical data management practices in health research
* Experience working through the entire SDLC
