Job Description

What does a great Release Engineer do?

As a Release Engineer in Enterprise Payments Solutions (EPS) group, you will be responsible for coordinating product releases. We are looking for a Release Engineer, who has experience in all aspects of a SDLC, using various methodologies and who will help us continue our values of providing a high-quality experience for our customers, while working in a collaborative, dynamic and fun environment. This role is a key contributor to process change roll outs, including change management, notifications, and end-user training. The role includes cross departmental coordination, quality and reporting.

As a Release Engineer, you will:

* Review Enterprise Payment Solutions (Dovetail) Software configuration changes to ensure alignment with release management procedures and policies
* Ensure EPS product (Dovetail) capabilities are integrated with minimal disruption to client solutions in development and in production
* Generate change discrepancy reports, following up with project teams for remediation
* Craft Releases, Packages and Tasks in Jira for work assignment and tracking
* Build software branches in Mercurial, following Dovetail naming conventions
* Build and maintain Product and Client release notes
* Work with Build Engineering and Tooling to coordinate test environment and tooling changes
* Plan, communicate and monitor release statuses. Identify and manage risks for projects as assigned
* Deliver part or all of the release artifacts to clients
* Monitor SDLC compliance by investigating and resolving anomalies in Jira and Mercurial
* Development and modification of Workflows and Screens in JIRA
* Ensure good communication within the project team, including the functional, release, and migration teams
* Establish and maintain release management reports and project dashboards
* Schedule release meetings, publishing the agenda
* Manage Release action items, monitoring progress to completion
* Gain Release partner consensus on release content and go/no go decisions
* Induct new hires to the Dovetail Software Change Management process

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

* Familiar with standard software development concepts, practices, and procedures with regard to code management, quality gates, and documentation.
* Experience in configuration management tools, e.g. Mercurial, CVS
* Experience in project management tools, like JIRA
* 2+ years release coordination experience
