Responsibilities

OBXtek is looking for a RedHat Linux Engineer to add to our dynamic team of IT professionals. The successful candidate will support our client's platform with production support, system implementation and technical sizing and be involved in the design supporting all client PMO application systems. You will focus on efficiently, and effectively implementing changes and upgrades to the system. You will proactively maintain and improve the performance and availability of key applications used by the client. The successful engineer must have strong and comprehensive RedHat Linux Administration and Engineering skills and possess excellent interpersonal skills to interact with the client and their customers and have a strong background in working with Oracle databases.

The successful candidate will coordinate with appropriate levels to ensure problem solution and user satisfaction. Analyzes functional business requirements and design specifications for functional activities. Should provide identification/fixes for the problems identified within existing systems design/implementation of new systems, enhancements of the existing systems and participating in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systems. Responsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products, and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the architecture and engineering team and COTS products. Must possess experience of system engineering in RedHat Linux and one or more areas including UNIX, telecommunications concepts, computer languages, operating systems, database/DBMS and middleware.

You will assist with the planning and implementation by working on-site with the customer as a representative of the clients' engineering team. You will also support ongoing product development and maintenance projects which include developing, debugging and tuning improvements to the system.

You will also be the primary point of contact for all tier-3 ITD System related support tickets, provide Operations and Maintenance support out of normal office hours on a pre-planned basis and at short notice in cases of emergency, perform periodic upgrades to the software and be responsible for changes to its functionality, documentation, and training. You will assist in the modernization of the client's insider threat detection capability in accordance with new Intelligence Community standards. You will be responsible to plan, implement, manage, and monitor this system, including the software and any necessary hardware, and integrate this capability within the client's infrastructure in partnership with the O&M team.

You will also be responsible to review diagrams, drawings and rack elevations showing logical and physical topologies, OS upgrades and patches or mitigations, Configurations (change requests), MACD support, Update records and/or logs, Document Research - SOP or Work Instruction, Process/Work Flow, Database Dictionary and Schema, and Backup and Recovery.

You will be responsible to manage and sustain the existing system for Insider Threat Detection platform including its operational posture and relative independence from the larger client enterprise it is interrogating. You will the support system configuration and reporting for the ongoing audit requirements.

You will be part of the team that support the update and maintenance of the CONOPS, requirements and deployment of the systems agents to core intelligence information systems at the clients' site and the integration of this data into of an transaction log analysis tool installed on their infrastructure. Our team will also share this data with other Intelligence Community (IC) elements for their use in auditing their user activities when accessing client data.

Qualifications

* 5-12 years' experience as a RedHat Systems Engineer/Administrator, or a combination of relevant experience and equivalent post-high school studies depending on degree level
* Experience with insider threat detection software from a systems engineering/administrator standpoint
* RedHat Linux RHELVersions 5, 6 & 7 and later
* Excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills
* Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle
* Significant experience in requirements development and traceability through the SELC of a system - from requirements definition to design to development and testing and post production validation
* Installing and upgrading the RedHat based tools
* Experience enrolling users and maintaining system security
* Experience managing compliance with license agreements
* Experience controlling and monitoring user access to the system
* Experience monitoring and optimizing the performance of the RedHat system
* Experience planning, executing, and maintaining backup and recovery of the system

Additional Preferred Skills and Experience

* Provide support for existing Microsoft Windows server environment, including 2008/2012 Active Directory Services, 2008/2012/2016 Microsoft Windows Servers, 2010/2013 Microsoft Exchange Servers including responsibility for supporting and optimizing the patch strategy for our servers.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory design, configuration and administration
* Familiarity with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
* Familiarity with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
* Familiarity with managing and maintaining Virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare vSphere and VMWARE ESX Servers 3.5.0 and later
* Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Skype
* Familiarity with the design, implementation and support of Microsoft Office 2013/2016, Microsoft Windows 10 and cloud technologies is highly desired
* Knowledge of enterprise server security and patch management
* Knowledge of configuration and change management
* Experience in an environment with multiple operating systems and Windows domains
* Experience with Change Requests; Remedy Tickets; Websphere Application Server Farm; New Users Provisioned

Education:

* Master's Degree with at least 5 years' experience or Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years' experience in Computer Science or related discipline, preferred.

Security Clearance:

* Must hold a current Top Secret Clearance with SCI access
* You must be a US Citizen and all immediate family members and all members of your household must be US Citizens.
