Job Description

Be part of the next revolution in computing! In the Quantum Systems team we are working on developer tools and system software to support a scalable quantum computer. We developed Q# - a new high-level quantum programming language and the Microsoft Quantum Development Kit which includes the compiler, environment, tools and libraries for programming quantum algorithms. We are working on software to interface to novel new quantum devices. We are conducting experiments optimizing performance of existing quantum algorithms.

* 5 or more years of programming experience
* 2 or more years of .NET programming experience or similar programming framework
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, or physics
* Experience with compiler development is required

Prior experience with quantum computing or quantum physics isn't required; as part of our team you will have ample opportunity to acquire and expand your knowledge in these areas. Experience with functional programming, language servers, code transformation and optimization, code generation, and type systems is helpful.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. As we continue to extend and enhance Q#, you will get to work on adding language features, back-end code optimizers, and quantum-specific code transformations. You will work closely with the language designers and contribute to the success of Q#. You will work on developer tool integration and other tools and features.
