Overview

Seeking Quality Test Engineer III with Software Development experience who can work in a fast-paced, agile, cutting-edge work environment. Senior Quality Test Engineer will work closely with our development group in a highly collaborative work environment. Selected person will participate in every project and take part in the decisions concerning project scope, direction, readiness, etc. Engineers exercise ownership, accountability, innovation, commitment to projects. Successful candidate will hit ground running and have proven track record of QA for enterprise web applications.

Daily Responsibilities:

* Performing testing activities for multiple projects and mentoring junior QA staff
* Writing automated functional tests as part of agile/sprint development process
* Reviewing software applications objectively, working with Business Analysts and End-Users to understand requirements and come up with BDD style acceptance criteria, draft test scenarios, End to End tests, Regression test packs to track overall test execution of the market-leading products to the aviation sector
* Creating and executing detailed test plans/test matrices/test scripts and recording /tracking of defects for design and development of various projects, while working within Agile/Scrum System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
* Managing test of enterprise class web applications, browser compatibility and managing test activities using various tools including JIRA, Jenkins, etc.
* Working with cross-functional teams and colleagues from variety of technical and commercial functions to make team more agile and build greater understanding and closer relationships between technology and other business areas

Skills & Experience:

* Strong QA experience, including creating test cases and plans and executing same, defect reporting, tracking. analyzing stack traces, code, log-files, artifacts
* Experience writing quality object-oriented code for testing purposes using Java
* Experience in software testing, including Agile/Scrum development lifecycle
* Experience in performing data-driven QA
* Experience in SQL and database testing
* Knowledge of testing applications holding files with huge sets of data
* Experience identifying improvements in the test and development processes, and from there, building the necessary automated tools to address improvements
* Knowledge of HTML, CSS, HTTP, Java, JavaScript, XML, AJAX
* Strong knowledge of Core Java, JavaScript and related technologies.
* Strong knowledge of testing frameworks like Selenium, TestNG and BDD.
* Deep knowledge of Internet technologies
* Experience with White Box Testing, XML
* Experience with build tools such as Maven, Git and Jenkins.
* Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
* Experience on multi-threaded enterprise class Java/J2EE application, Code Driven Test Automation Framework
* Solid understanding of Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs)
* Understanding of databases and services including the ability to programmatically interact with data formats that may include XML and JSON
* Knowledge of version control (VC) systems for VC of test/development artifacts.
* Ability to speak-up regarding test activities and mentor and coach junior QA staff
* Excellent knowledge of Performance and Load testing methods and techniques
* Write and implement acceptance criteria. Write automation test cases that verify functional and non-functional requirements of a feature.
* Experience participating in architecture and design of feature early in development cycle with influence to drive quality and adherence to specifications
* Align with/support test process to ensure consistent applications across QA team
* Ability to work on multiple concurrent and overlapping projects.
* Comfortable and willing to stay on top of advancements in technology, design practices, and architecture, as well as the latest software and networking processes, tools, and methods for keeping up with/applying to role and for making recommendations to enhance current products and engineering practices
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

Education

* B.S. in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
