About

Job Description

Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician executes test plans, performs tests, and documents and communicates testing results. The Quality Assurance Technician ensures published exams meet established specifications and validates end user documentation.

Job Duties

* Execute test plans and communicate the progress of assigned tasks.
* Perform quality control of exam scoring and score report products to ensure they meet client specifications.
* Report and track scoring defects and retest corrected defects.
* Coordinate and work closely with internal clients to ensure that publication release dates are met.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of company's software application(s).
* Install software packages and enhancements to staging environment for testing of exam scoring.
* Remain informed on company's software development life cycle processes and procedures.
* Identify and develop avenues for increased efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

* BS in Business Systems, Information Technology, or Database Administration preferred
* 2 to 3 years of solid QA experience
* Experience with web-based systems highly emphasized
* Ability to run basic SQL queries developed by the Systems Administrator
* Success at participating in cross-functional teams
* Strong experience with QA process and procedures
* Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

* Use telephone and computers for extended period of time.
* Occasional weekend or evening hours required.
