Overview

The IT Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning, design and execution of system testing on simple to complex implementations. This position must be able to work with project and application managers to define test plans and test case scripts based on business requirements and application software designs. The QA analyst is also responsible for executing the test case scripts and work collaboratively with the application developers to log, track and validate test results. This position requires effective communication of the QA Plan and test results to the Business Units, Application Developers, Project Leads and Managers alike. The IT QA Analyst must have a thorough understanding of best practices relating to the following test cycles: unit, integration, functional, system, regression, load, security, and user acceptance.

Responsibilities

* Develop simple test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports for projects, enhancements or production support fixes
* Perform testing on various software and reporting systems
* Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process
* Review user requirements documents to ensure that requirements are testable
* Work with business users to conduct user acceptance testing
* Manage execution of test cases by QA engineers for project, enhancement or production support fix
* Creates test plans, matrices and cases, as well as ensures adequate preparation of test data in an integrated QA test environment, all in an effort to fully test application enhancements and fixes utilizing shop approved testing methodology. All drafted project test plans should address the application modification, as well as any peripheral impact to the modification
* Executes test cases and provides detailed documentation to support findings, identifying all call out issues, processing bugs, deviations from shop standards, and end-user business gaps
* Facilitates integration, functional, system, regression, load and user acceptance testing. On larger projects, drafts and coordinates testing schedules through MS Project plans, and works collaboratively with all pertinent business and development teams to adhere to this schedule

Qualifications

* Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Administration, or equivalent required
* Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle required
* Store understanding of various Testing methodologies required
* Experience with one or more QA Testing and Issue Tracking software required
* Background in retail and/or distribution systems preferred
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Effective communicator in oral and written form
* Independent worker and effective in time management
* Good analytical and problem solving skills
* Capable of working productively with peers
