Focuses on the creation, maintenance and execution of test scripts and other specialty testing activities in the areas of automation testing, performance testing, test environments or application specialties. Is considered a subject matter expert in one or more of these areas. Identifies and develops ways to improve the quality, capability, or efficiency of the testing process. Typically focused on automating new functionality pre-release and maintenance post-release, or driving efficient testing in other areas.

Job Responsibilities

* Continuously improve software engineering practices by working with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.
* Design, develop and execute automated software test plans to identify and address user problems and their root causes
* Want to own and be accountable for test strategy, test planning, and test execution
* Analyze risk identifiers and develop, implement, and improve automated testing software, leveraging knowledge of computer science and software development principles.
* Have a passion for developing smoke, functional and regression test suites for front-end / user interface (UI layer), API Services, and back-end
* Participate in the development of software quality engineering procedures including functional, regression, Integration tests and roll-back testing scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
* Develop in-depth system and application knowledge for higher test quality and coverage
* Conducts post-mortem root-cause analysis of outages. Pro-actively makes changes to lessen future risk.
* Follows effective change control processes to ensure minimum downtime and minimum unplanned interruption of key services.
* Keeps abreast of financial technology industry trends/best practices and new hardware/software products to support growth objectives
* Proficient and fully competent to work on all phases of QC/QA activities including thorough and detailed script analysis, requirement and design analysis, test scripting design and strategies/development.
* Clearly communicate status and open issues to QA team and manager.
* Able to provide guidance to mid-level and junior-level resources, assist Leads and Managers, executive level presence and able to contribute to innovative ideas, etc.
* Lead onshore and offshore teams.

Required Skills

* 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Test Automation projects as an automation developer
* Must have experience in automation of REST Web Services automation testing using JAVA\TestNG\Maven
* Strong hands on experience in Core Java and experience on java related projects
* Experience in test lead, ability to lead project and onsite\offshore model project execution.
* Web Services testing with different payloads like XML, JSON.
* MUST have experience with BDD , Cucumber, and Gherkin
* Experience with automated test script creation and maintenance using Behavior Driven Development approach
* Hands-On knowledge in OOPS concept, automation development, debugging and problem solving skills.
* Familiarity with automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, etc.)
* Design and develop enterprise wide, re-usable testing productivity components and/or frameworks
* Experience in tools like SVN, GIT, Perforce
* Excellent communication skills: must be able to communicate with developers to coordinate feature and integration testing requirements
* Experience with CI/CD tools Jenkins, Maven, Litmus and etc.
* Proficient in QA methodology and process (Agile testing experience preferred)
* Proficient in SQL
* Strong ability to create test cases and test plans from given high-level functional requirements and also prepare presentations
* Communicate with higher management.
* Experience in working on project using matured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and models: i.e. Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, etc.
* QA Process/Methodology and Business acumen in technical development organization
* Experience in using one or more SDLC tools - Rally, JIRA or HP ALM     

Desired Skills

* University Degree or equivalent work experience
* Previous experience in implementing test automation development efforts in an Agile SCRUM development environment
* Additional expertise in other automation tools will be an asset - HP QTP (Add-ins -.Net, Java, Infragistics etc), Selenium WebDriver,
* Additional expertise in one or more languages will be an asset - JavaEJB, VBScripts, JavaScript, VBA, Java, SQL, HTML, Python, Perl, .Net, Unix.
* Experience in COM and API automation will be an asset.
* Working experience in Banking domain
* Strong presentation skills.
* Experience with file based testing.   
* Working experience in a Global organization.
