Job Description

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced, hands-on Python developer and technical lead to help build out its global data science environment for sales & trading, a rapidly-growing and high-priority area. You will work closely with sales, trading and strats on multiple trading desks to design, develop, deploy and support an innovative data science environment based on Python. You will work the full application lifecycle in a fast-paced, high-stakes agile development environment. This is a hands-on role in a global team, so strong communications skills are essential.

Skilled required:

* Expert-level core Python knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment; minimum 10 years
* Experience developing & designing complex, data-driven systems in Python, ideally with a Web / HTML5 component
* Flask / Numpy / pandas / Plotly / Jupyter and general data science stack experience

Skills desired:

* Track record working in front-office environment with trading and quantitative strategists
* Experience in equities / options / futures / ETF / structured products highly desirable
* Experience in fixed income products and data / FX / rates / bonds / CDS / CDX desirable
* Full stack HTML5 Web development experience highly desirable
* KDB knowledge or experience with another high-performance timeseries database
