Analysts work with stakeholders to identify and define needs and issues, document requirements, and solve problems using fact-based analysis. Analysts provide recommendations based on their analysis, and help PSE&G respond to changing business conditions. They have strong quantitative and analytical skills that allow them to quickly make sense of multiple data sources and present synthesized facts and data in insightful and compelling ways. Analysts must be aware of the technology and business impacts of their insights and recommendations.

Provides Technical and QA/QC support associated with the Electric Geographic Information System (EGIS) application for PSEG Long Island. Works closely with Other Departments and External Customers to ensure LIPA Asset data is maintained and distributed in accordance with PSEG & Department requirements. Works closely with Internal & External organizations to support the informational needs of the respective organization through analysis and reporting of the geospatial data imbedded in EGIS. Works closely with Mapping staff to ensure optimum data quality and maintains the Distribution System 'Data Model':

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

* Provide QA/QC support for EGIS Updating / Session Editing and ensuring accurate and complete work order data transfer to EGIS.
* Ensure Electric System 'Data Model' connectivity through the use of EGIS tools and detailed review of the EGIS Electric Distribution Network
* Provide EGIS Application support to various end user organizations. Work with various Operating and Support Staff organizations to understand their reporting requirements and develop system solutions that meet their requirements
* Provide training and coaching services to EGIS Application editors and other EGIS Application User throughout PSEGLI
* As required, provide special project support, System upgrade / enhancement support.

Educations and Qualifications

Required:

* BS in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or GIS, 2-10 years of GIS work or related experience.
* Proficient in MS Office Tools.
* Excellent Oral & Written Communication skills.

Desired:

* Advanced degree or Certificate in GIS
* Advanced MS Tools including macro programing and database tools (I.e. Sequel, Python Scripting)
* Basic knowledge of the LIPA Electric Distribution System

This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.

This is a multi-level growth series position, the title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.

This position has a career path which provides for promotional opportunities within and across grades as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.

If an internal candidate is selected they will move laterally at their current grade level and will not be eligible for a promotion at the time of accepting this position. This applies to candidates moving within the same career path (e.g., analyst, supervisor, engineer), or to a different career path (e.g., analyst to engineer, supervisor to analyst). The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be promoted within the career path during an annual review.

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
