CGI is seeking a Project Manager (Utilities - Electric) with 8 years of experience for highly critical and visible program as part of the Advanced Grid initiative at leading US utility. The Project Manager will be accountable for the on-time, on-budget delivery of a $5M project to deploy a new system and migrate existing functionality for the Transmission Work Request (TWR) functionality. The project will source a new application, develop integrations to existing Xcel Energy systems and deploy to each of three operating companies. The Project Manager is responsible for planning the work, managing a cross-functional team comprised of employees, contractors and vendors at distributed work locations, and mitigating issues and risks. The Project Manager is responsible for forecasting costs, tracking actuals, and explaining variances.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Leads the project planning effort, including the definition of the deliverables and the required delivery dates, creation of a logical work breakdown structure, definition of major project milestones, accumulation of all project cost and benefit estimates. Manages, prepares and produces project management reports, timelines, budgets, and documentation. Create and manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking and calculating earned value metrics. Identifies risks and issues and provides effective mitigation. Monitors project activities and resolves/escalates issues as needed.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

* Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with management of a $5M project budget or greater.
* Proven experience managing software upgrade or enterprise software implementation projects.
* Proven experience managing requirements specification, design activities, prototype development, testing and final deployment.
* Proven vendor management experience including SOW creation, financial control, and aggressively driving vendor to meet date and budget commitments.
* Proven experience on a project with a large number of impacted users, (i.e., at least 200 users) and managing the associated change management.
* Experience in managing project budget forecasts and actuals. Experienced with accrual-based accounting.
* Utility experience preferred.
