Position: Project Manager Non IT
Location: Washington DC
Type : Contract to Hire role
The client is seeking a non-IT Project Manager II to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in in support of an enterprise wide program. Identify and resolve project interdependencies, and related execution issues/risks, in order to achieve governance goals and objectives. Make recommendations and develop solutions for stakeholders on project management and planning to ensure proper planning and timely implementation of projects
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate projects, making and maintaining detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of project/program activities.
Develop, present, and explain proposals, reports, and findings to customers, management, and external stakeholders
Conduct analysis to plan and assess the feasibility of project activities
Track progress against project plan to ensure project teams and other stakeholders have the tools necessary to deliver a timely implementation
Provide analytical support in synthesizing and reporting results
Proactively identify and resolve time sensitive project risks, issues, interdependencies, and conflicts, both within and across business units and initiatives and coordinate implementation
Skills:
Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to coordinate across multiple groups to meet deadlines
Communicate comfortably with customers at varying levels of seniority, both verbally and in writing
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement
Knowledge of software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.
Ability to work independently and manage ones time.
Understanding of financial capital markets is desirable, but not required
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
PMI or PMP certification preferred.
2-4 years experience required.
