Project Manager
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 6 months with possible contract to hire
Description:
The client is seeking a non-IT Project Manager II to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in in support of an enterprise wide program. Identify and resolve project interdependencies, and related execution issues/risks, in order to achieve governance goals and objectives. Make recommendations and develop solutions for stakeholders on project management and planning to ensure proper planning and timely implementation of projects
Job Responsibilities:
* Coordinate projects, making and maintaining detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of project/program activities.
* Develop, present, and explain proposals, reports, and findings to customers, management, and external stakeholders
* Conduct analysis to plan and assess the feasibility of project activities
* Track progress against project plan to ensure project teams and other stakeholders have the tools necessary to deliver a timely implementation
* Provide analytical support in synthesizing and reporting results
* Proactively identify and resolve time sensitive project risks, issues, interdependencies, and conflicts, both within and across business units and initiatives and coordinate implementation
Skills:
* Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to coordinate across multiple groups to meet deadlines
* Communicate comfortably with customers at varying levels of seniority, both verbally and in writing
* Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement
* Knowledge of software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.
* Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
* Understanding of financial capital markets is desirable, but not required
Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
* PMI or PMP certification preferred.
* 2-4 years' experience required.
