Job Description

For more than 78 years, the USOa private, nonprofit organizationhas served the men and women of the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform from the moment they join, through their deployments and as they transition back to their communities.

Todays USO continuously adapts to the needs of our men and women in uniform and their families, so they can focus on their very important mission. We operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.

The Project Manager, Development & Marketing position is a temporary position with a 12-month anticipated duration. It is responsible for overall planning, organizing, directing and controlling the charter center consolidation project and executing centers data integration plans for the Development & Marketing team. This position is onsite and interfaces with program leads, sponsors, and various management levels.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

* Provide project management for the OneUSO initiative for the Development & Marketing Team. Monitor project timeline, implementation, documentation, and progress.*
* Manage all aspects of OneUSO project engagement including planning, vendor relationships, resources and budget.*
* Identify and mitigate risks that can affect the project, escalate risks appropriately and define best practices for proactively managing future risks.*
* Manage and work across internal and external teams, vendors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure timely execution of all activities and on-time achievement of project milestones.*
* Build relationships and communicate project related information frequently to key business stakeholders, affiliate staff, technical staff, vendors, and senior management.*
* Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications - Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors necessary to perform the job successfully. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

* Bachelors Degree required with a professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP) preferred.
* 5+ years of work experience in project management.
* Experience in managing systems integration projects required and experience in a non-profit organization preferred.
* Solid experience in presenting to executive sponsors; demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
* Able to motivate and manage project teams of various sizes that include internal and external resources and inspire them to higher performance levels.
* Experience leading project kick off sessions and cross functional business requirements gathering sessions, managing project timelines & budgets and coordinating technical and non-technical resources for all aspects of a project.
* Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise and to use discretion; exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy; can maintain strict confidentiality.
* Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
* Must be a strong advocate of the USOs mission.
