Job Description

Publishers Clearing House (PCH), headquartered in Jericho, NY, is looking a Project Manager/Business Analyst to join our team!

The Project Manager/Business Analyst will be responsible for facilitating and guiding the assigned project teams in their activities and helping to keep the project(s) on track using Scrum methodology/framework or Waterfall whichever applicable. They will ensure that the business needs are articulated as clear, detailed stories for the team to consume for development and will work collaboratively with product owners, business stakeholders and engineers and work alongside the development teams to ensure that these stories are built to meet the outlined acceptance criteria and exact needs of the business. The Project Manager/Business Analyst will be the subject matter expert in the product(s) they support and know the details of a feature inside-out. They will juggle competing priorities and navigate through the business constraints for any identified problem in order to drive towards a solution.

Experience with data projects is required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Act as a hands-on Project Manager for 1-2 teams. This includes organizing and facilitating release and sprint planning sessions, daily stand-up meetings, sprint demos, retrospectives, story grooming sessions and any other Scrum related meetings, as well as updating and maintaining in Version One.
* Plan, manage and communicate releases, goals, schedules, dependencies, procedures and tasks
* Manage development activities performed on-site, off-shore and with third parties
* Mitigate issues and elevate to management as necessary
* Establish, maintain and provide relevant metrics to show how the team is doing
* Coach, mentor and motivate the team as needed to reach their highest potential
* Define detailed user stories with applicable acceptance criteria in collaboration with product owners and technology team, which includes facilitating groomings, sizing sessions, design sessions, etc.
* Work closely with the Product Owners to understand the product vision / roadmap and translate that into the product backlog
* Analyze high level business requirements / user stories and translate them into lower level functional requirements. This would include user interface specifications, screen mock-ups, process and navigational flows, etc.
* Create and manage a backlog of clearly defined and prioritized user stories

Required Skills/Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree required
* 5+ years of solid experience in Project Management and Business Analysis with data related projects using the latest tools and technologies
* 5+ years solid experience in Agile Scrum
* Experience with and understanding of data technologies, specifically in design of comprehensive, technical architecture
* Detailed knowledge, understanding and hands-on experience with SQL and data modeling
* Analysis and documentation of system data sources from traditional to new data sources
* Understanding of the basic fundamentals of iterative development
* Proven experience creating user stories, design documentation, process flows and wireframes in order to clearly communicate a set of functional requirements
* Excellent at conducting requirement gathering sessions and then concisely documenting their outcome
* Proven experience of managing and prioritizing a backlog of user stories
* Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
* Ability to garner trust from their team, other groups and business units
* Strong organizational skills, time management, goals setting and task prioritization abilities
* Superb attention to detail and a rigorous focus on delivering quality output
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to speak knowledgeably with members of both the business and development teams
* Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings of analysis
* Strong teamwork, interpersonal, relationship and presentation skills
* Desire to take ownership, be creative with problem solving, and pro-actively secure the objectives of the business
