Grant Thornton is seeking a Manager to join its Operations Transformation service line and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Manager will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management.

Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work.

Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.

Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).

Act as performance manager (coach) for up to four coachees outside of engagement responsibilities.

Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.

Minimum of five (5) years hands-on project management experience overseeing projects that involve discipline areas such as risk mitigation, strategic planning, and independent verification and validation under large Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs).

Active PMP certification is optimal but not required

Must have five (5) or more years prior hands-on experience creating project schedules in Microsoft Project and managing project delivery within scope, on schedule and within budget.

Must have prior experience with business analysis and solution design around complex processes and IT systems, preferably for the federal government.

Must have prior experience working in a matrix environment.

Must have intermediate to expert level of experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel and Visio.

Must have strong oral (speak fluent English) and written skills and experience interacting and presenting to senior leaders, contract officers etc. within an organization.

Must have strong skills in the following key areas including: strategic thinking, multi-tasking, negotiation, conflict management, time management, planning and executing to a defined schedule/budget.

Prior Federal, State or Local government IT project management experience is a plus.

Prior experience setting up and maintaining a MS SharePoint page for projects to provide access to key project documents is a plus.

Prior experience with business process mapping and re-engineering is a plus.

Prior hands-on experience creating and presenting monthly dashboards and reports for task level and BPA performance

Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.

U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.

Travel may be required.

Coach and mentor junior staff members.

Ability to work overtime required on occasion.

Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.

Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
