A Project Engineer-IOT & Automation(Direct Hire) job in Chicago, IL is available through Belcan.

This position holder will report to the Director of U.S. Fabrication. This position will be focused on ensuring the successful implementation of advanced manufacturing and engineering technologies (including IoT and Automation) throughout our organization by partnering with IT, Engineering, SMEs, Business Managers, and our technology partners. This role will develop and implement innovative manufacturing technologies including the use of MT Connect, XML, Machine to Machine technologies, as well as developing SQL Database technologies with integration to Oracle and other business systems

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Developing manufacturing automation solutions utilizing a hands-on approach with code (e.g., c#, .NET, SQL) and shop floor machine hardware (Allen Bradley, basic PDCs, Etc.).

Implementing and supporting IoT services.

Managing projects or complex engagements involving multiple stakeholders.

Supporting highly available applications instilling infrastructure robustness, including networking, communications, virtual application and SQL servers, working within a security framework provided by IT.

Working with device and technology suppliers to understand their product roadmaps and how they influence our offerings.

Targeting internal opportunities to improve and educate Team Members on IoT capabilities, architecture and use cases.

Requirements: :

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Masters degree a plus.

Requires superior analytical and interpersonal skills.

6+ years hands-on experience building complex solutions.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.

Driven self-starter with the ability to multi-task and set priorities.

Superior communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Experience working with external or internal customers to implement large-scale solutions.

Understanding of emerging IoT technologies and communications protocols.

Demonstrated capability to handle complex analytics and present data in simple and accessible formats
