Job Description

Description:This position is with the Engineering & Technology (E&T) Vehicle Systems & Sciences (VS&S) Operations team. The selected candidate will be the VS&S Metrics and Command Media lead. This position will support VS&S activities across all LM Aero Lines of Business and sites.

The Metrics and Command Media lead task includes the following:

* Development and update of VS&S command media and process information as required
* Evaluation of internal and external standards as a basis for updates to command media and metrics
* Support of the E&T Program Performance team in identifying, collecting, and analyzing VS&S metrics
* Support of program progress and health assessments during planning and execution
* Support of the VS&S competency areas in defining standard work content
* Support of continuous improvement efforts by conducting Structured Improvement Activities as well as root cause and impact analyses
* Maintenance and update of VS&S Knowledge Management System content and integration of artifacts with process governance and guidance
* Support of the VS&S competency areas in establishing technical roadmaps

In addition to these tasks, the selected candidate will act as the VS&S focal point for Information Technology (IT) project requests and budget planning. This task involves developing an understanding of VS&S IT projects to enable advocacy of these projects at E&T level reviews, and to support budget reallocations between projects when needed.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
* Previous program experience in one or more VS&S technical areas (Flight Sciences, Flight Controls, Mass Properties, Utility Systems, Propulsion, Weapons, or Software Development

* Experience with the product development cycle as it relates to VS&S
* Experience in reaching out and communicating with multiple LOBs and functions
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
* Self-starter that can identify own tasking and tempo, with a desire to See It, Own It, Solve It, and Do It
* Experience in improving efficiency, technical integrity, and affordability
* Experience in identifying or developing training, tools, and processes
* Experience with Proposals
* Knowledge of configuration development/management process
* Technical writing skills
