Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) pioneered cloud computing, and we're committed to maintaining our position as the premier player in web services technology. The AWS Documentation team plays a key role in helping our customers to get started quickly, and ensure that the technical details of our products are clearly described and easier to understand.

We have an exciting opportunity for a programmer writer on our team, to create getting-started guides, in-depth documentation on product features, and API reference materials. You'll also continuously improve existing documentation, based on customer feedback. Your work will be an integral part of customer-facing AWS documentation for database services - purpose-built relational and non-relational solutions to handle the specific needs of customers' applications.

As a programmer writer at AWS, you'll work directly with development teams in a cross-functional, distributed environment. You'll need a technical background that enables you to work effectively with software development engineers, product managers, and technical program managers. In addition, you'll need excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical publications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Drive documentation planning with engineering teams.
* Produce high-quality documentation for libraries, tools, and services for mobile and web app developers.
* Independently follow designs and standards to develop and deliver documentation for AWS products.
* Work as part of a team to produce conceptual, how-to, and API reference documentation for AWS products.
* Conduct peer edits for grammar, style, and form.
* Help define writing projects and determine priorities.
