Requisition Number: 30566 Job Title: PROGRAMMER/ANALYST III Working Title: Programmer/Analyst III Salary: $5,234 - $10,358 monthly Job Type: Contract Department Name: 4815-DASHEW CTR FOR INT'L STUDENTS & SCHOLARS Department Website URL: www.internationalcenter.ucla.edu Job Summary Statement: The Programmer/Analyst III participates in development of complex distributed applications. The incumbent conducts detailed systems technical analysis, participates in application design and development, database design and modeling for complex distributed applications. The incumbent is experienced with Microsoft's suite of development products (Net programming tools, SQL Server etc.) and keeps abreast with emerging technologies. The incumbent plans and participates in full system and user acceptance testing for complex mainframe and distributed systems. The incumbent works with students, end-users, management, technical staff, vendors, and representatives from state and federal agencies to develop, implement, and maintain mainframe and distributed applications. The incumbent develops and runs reports, queries, stored procedures, views SSIS jobs and other SQL Server database objects as needed on the student records database. The incumbent evaluates requests for programs, reports, and database modifications or enhancements. The incumbent analyzes and resolves production system problems, monitors production systems to ensure correct and efficient operation and manages production environment for various applications. The incumbent has excellent problem solving and communication skills. Percentage of Time: 100% Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm Qualifications for Position

1. Experienced in systems analysis and design for web systems including completing feasibility studies of proposed projects, analyzing complex functional processes, developing overall system requirements, designing detailed inputs and outputs, designing GUI and web interfaces, and producing detailed system and programming specifications.

Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, ability to analyze operational and organizational systems: define the problem or objective; identify relevant concerns or factors; identify problems, tendencies and relationships; formulate logical and objective conclusions; recognize alternatives and their implications; propose alternatives and discuss orally or in writing; and implement procedural changes to effect the desired result.

3. Ability to define testing procedures and to rigorously carry out such procedures.

4. Excellent skills in implementing new systems, projecting the resulting workflow changes, and integrating new systems into operational procedures.

5. Expertise in Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, C#, SQL, XML, XSL, SOAP, REST, AJAX, JQuery, CSS and JavaScript. Demonstrated ability to write easily maintainable, durable, scalable, structured, object oriented code following proper coding and documentation standards.

6. Expertise in developing and consuming SOAP & REST Web Services.
