Job Description

The PHP programmer supports the Senior programmer in providing Web application evaluation, integration, and/or development services to the School's administrative units and departments, as well as server administration and Drupal troubleshooting and maintenance.

Development, troubleshooting and maintenance of the School's applications, including Drupal CMS, the School Events calendar, News feeds, etc. Evaluation and integration/development of hardware and software solutions to optimize business productivity, scalability and data security). Server administration; reworking of legacy applications to leverage new coding and database standards

Provide expertise related to secure database design, data gathering as it pertains to quality and robustness, data back-up and other data governance issues. Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education, skills and experience plus a minimum of 2 years related experience with work as an application Programmer, Web developer, Webmaster, or a combination thereof, for a large, dynamic Web site.

Demonstrated ability to develop programming projects from concept through launch; programming expertise in: PHP/ASP/CSS/JavaScript/Python; experience administering and maintaining databases, such as mySQL (SQL Server a plus); thorough knowledge of internet browser capabilities and limitations.

Experience using Drupal 7 CMS to generate and deliver content; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent project management, negotiation, organizational, communication (written and oral), interpersonal, analytical, and people skills; experience planning Web site structure, templates and navigation a strong plus;

Understanding of programming for Windows- and Unix-based Web servers; experience supporting/configuring Windows- and Unix-based Web servers strong plus. Example: Apache, IIS, Windows 2008/20012; some .net a plus.

Knowledge of search engine and Web statistics software optimization a plus; experience working in an academic, health-oriented setting is highly desirable.

Ability to collaborate with groups across the School; must be highly motivated.

Must be able to handle multiple projects, respond well to shifting priorities, work well under pressure, and exercise discretion and judgment in dealing with confidential and sensitive situations. Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
