Job Description

Are you customer driven, and interested in building and growing a passionate community of fans around a product which you own? Are you interested in owning and driving an entire product within Office, including its backlog, roadmap, and design? Do you want to work in a small, tight knit team, while also having the resources and opportunities associated with a much larger team available to you?

If so, the Office Platform team would love to talk to you.

About the Team

The Office Platform team is a global team with individuals in Redmond, Dublin, Beijing, and Bangalore. We play a central role in the M365 developer story and are responsible for delivering a cohesive platform that enables developers to extend Office on all endpoints. We are also focused on empowering makers of all kinds to achieve more with Office, with existing products like Access, as well as with new initiatives we are developing. We partner closely with internal teams, external companies, and a wide range of developers (from first- to third-party) to build a platform that will bring considerable value to the Office ecosystem.

We do this by both fostering one of the world's largest developer ecosystems around our Win32 apps, and building a modern extensibility model that's based on web technologies and runs across platforms. Building a great platform isn't just about APIs - we also think deeply about the developer experience and ensure that from documentation to tooling to an in-app marketplace, we have everything our ecosystem needs to build powerful, deeply integrated solutions that enable customers to use our apps more efficiently and effectively.

We are a diverse, worldwide, passionate, customer-obsessed team with a highly collaborative environment, focused on ensuring that we have a world-class platform and a successful, thriving partner ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

* 2+ years of Program Management, Product Management, or equivalent experience required.
* BA/BS degree or equivalent required.

We'd love to talk to you, if you:

* Are passionate about working closely with customers and partners, and building and maintaining a strong community of professionals around a product.
* Want to learn what it takes to own a product with millions of monthly users.
* Enjoy partnering closely with others, including listening deeply to their needs/concerns, sharing your thoughts clearly, and openly discussing the necessary tradeoffs to ultimately land on the best design.
* Are equally comfortable articulating the big picture and refining the small details of a design. Perhaps you often find yourself digging into the details, finding gaps and making things happen.
* Are a passionate and creative problem solver, who continuously strives to make things better.
* Are customer and data obsessed, always learning, and refining your features to deliver maximum business impact.

Office Platform is incredibly committed to diversity and equal opportunity. We believe that the best software comes from a diverse, inclusive team that celebrates the unique backgrounds, perspectives, and skills of all team members. The more we come together, the more we will achieve.

Join us in building the future!

About the Position

In this position, you will be a key member of the team responsible for enabling the millions of Office users who are not traditional developers to customize and enhance Office to meet their needs. As one significant aspect of that effort, you will own the Access product, which is an important component of Office with a committed customer base with millions of monthly users, as well as an active and engaged community of professionals who earn their livings with the product.

You will be responsible for defining the product roadmap, prioritizing and designing new features, and driving the success of the product. You will partner closely with our development, marketing, and documentation teams, as well as with key partner teams across Microsoft. You will learn what it means to be responsible for the success of an entire product, and all of the things which are needed to drive that which reach well beyond developing and delivering individual features.

In addition to driving Access, there will also be the opportunity to contribute to the other initiatives on the team and contribute to our larger mission of empowering developers and makers to achieve more with Office.
