Overview

The Product Owner is the member of the technology team responsible for defining and prioritizing the agile team's backlog so as to streamline the execution of program priorities, while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components the team is responsible for. This role will be responsible for collecting and validating requirements, work with business and technical teams to document functional specifications, and assisting with the documentation of business processes. The product owner is responsible for facilitating communication between the technology team, business and the stakeholders and ensures the team is building the right product. They describe what should be built and why, but not how. Individual will be expected to interact with subject matter experts across multiple departments. The product owner is expected to support QA manager's role in developing test plans built around the requirements, as well as potentially leading testing teams.

Responsibilities

* Gathers information from stakeholders to document business, process, functional, and/or data requirements.
* Own, prioritize, and maintain the Work Stream Backlog, including definition of features, user stories, acceptance criteria
* Serve as "voice of the member" with delivery teams, representing/reinforcing the member's perspective throughout the product realization cycle
* Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, developers, testers and others to develop and execute against Product Roadmaps and Release Plans
* Continuously and transparently communicate with internal stakeholders the prioritization of the Work Stream Backlog and the status of development efforts via Product Demos, Release Plans and other means
* Define, prioritize, drive realization of specific product vision
* Act as the subject-matter expert for assigned products
* Work with Scrum Masters to help direct, motivate, and guide the delivery teams
* Work with QA Manager to support development of a test plan, test scripts and organization of test team. In some situations will be required to perform QA and UAT testing.
* Provide direction and support to development and quality assurance teams
* Promote and drive Agile development methodology throughout the work and teams
* Manage, prioritize, and assess the impact of defects, including providing key input on the decisions to fix or defer
* Reviews, accepts, and prioritizes feedback and new requirements from project stakeholders
* Ensure that Scrum team deliverables meet agreed-upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements, and that the products meet the stated business need
* Reviews output of development to ensure specified acceptance criteria has been completed
* Ensure the product functionality is appropriately documented
* Provide input to business owners & leadership for necessary changes or product backlog items coming out of scrum development that need to be considered on a future roadmap
* Assist customer support teams, and develop and implement trainings and communications that allow partners and internal clients to better understand the products and changes that were made.
* Obtains key inputs from enterprise architecture teams and identifies solution interdependencies
* Engages with knowledge workers to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing systems
* Proactively resolves customer satisfaction issues
* Ensure adherence to company policies, standards and processes to maintain consistency and quality with project delivery and process improvements.
* Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor degree preferred
* 5+ years' experience working as an agile product owner in a technology company with proven history of full product development (or relevant work experience)
* Demonstrated ability to work with product development to deploy technologies such as, desktop and mobile user interface design, information design, user research, data visualization, analytics and APIs.
* Experience in working with Agile/Scrum work environment as a Product Owner: writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance
* Experience working cross-functionally with business change
* Experience working with project teams in a wide range of complexity
* Financial Services Industry Experience
* Experience with Scrum methodology
* Experience with Mobile & Web applications
* This position is based out of the Pleasanton HQ office. (Non-remote)
