About Oracle Production Engineering

Oracle Cloud Production Engineering plays a critical role in delivering and supporting best-of-breed cloud solutions to Oracle customers.

Oracle Cloud is the industry's broadest and most integrated public cloud. It offers best-in-class services across software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and even lets you put Oracle Cloud in your own data center. Oracle Cloud helps organizations drive innovation and business transformation by increasing business agility, lowering costs, and reducing IT complexity.

The Oracle Cloud has shown strong adoption, supporting 70 million users and more than 30 billion transactions each day. It runs in 19 data centers around the world.

About The Job

We are looking for a candidate with experience across both product management and engineering to help evolve and grow our nascent SaaS@Customer product line.

The Oracle SaaS@Customer platform takes the same great SaaS solution offered in the Oracle Cloud and extends it to the customer datacenter. This allows businesses who want to convert from legacy on-premise solutions but are unable to move to a traditional cloud due to regulatory, data governance, or enhanced isolation requirements an ideal road forward into SaaS. In a time of ever-increasing global concern around data sovereignty, this pathway into cloud services is fulfilling a rapidly growing need across multiple industries. We provide all of the hardware, software, and operations capability, as well as the same release cadence as Oracle Cloud, so that every customer benefits from the experience of every other customer. They need only to purchase the service and provide space and power. It's like shipping an Oracle datacenter in a box.

In this position, you'll take on a leading role in the definition, evolution, delivery, and forward planning for Oracle SaaS@Customer. You'll be regularly interacting with developers, operations, customers and sales teams, focused on the full product lifecycle, from ideation through design to delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design - You will leverage your understanding of the industry, engineering savvy, and passion for cost-to-serve and margin optimization to guide future product design direction. You will manage a regular versioned release schedule of the engineered systems required to deploy Oracle SaaS in customer environments. Your focus will be on product quality, time to deliver, hardware and operational cost optimization, customer feature demand, and new SaaS product incorporation. You will deliver a product roadmap to guide Sales and surrounding software development organizations, as to which SaaS features will be available for deployment at customer sites, and when.

Marketing Collateral and Documentation - You will assemble, manage, and curate a collection of both internal and customer facing collateral, including web content, white papers, presentations, FAQs, and product documentation. This will be largely used to facilitate the Sales cycle as we grow the SaaS@Customer line of business.

Pre-Sales - You will help manage incoming pipeline, providing education, feedback, guidance, and white glove support to our Sales teams. Based upon the SaaS bill of materials under consideration by the customer, you will perform detailed sizing calculations and delivery architecture design, including hardware quantities and types, network details, elevations, and environmentals. From this design, you will determine annual cost of goods sold, and guide Sales to develop a deal structure appropriate to cost and margin goals.

Service Delivery - Once a SaaS contract is signed by a customer, you will be responsible for the final design and internal ordering of the underlying hardware required to deliver that service, working with supply chain, the engineered systems factory, and the provisioning and operations teams to ensure a smooth and timely delivery, before handing off ownership to SaaS Operations.

Analysis & Forecasting - You will be responsible for aggregation of sales and pre-sales activity, combined with analysis of the market for private on-premise SaaS solutions and the respective industry verticals, to develop a far-forward forecast, including part numbers and quantities, operational staffing, quarterly costs, and revenue. This will be used to drive supply chain, headcount management, and financial tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

* 10 years of combined product management and engineering experience, preferably with enterprise and/or cloud architectures
* Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Human Capital Management (HCM), and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), particularly within the Banking and Government sectors
* Technical degree with a Computer Science or Engineering background desired, additional MBA-style coursework a strong plus
* Solid grasp of financial business fundamentals and analysis, comfortable working with and building complex spreadsheets
* Experience with on-premise to cloud migrations or IT transformations
* Working knowledge of IT Security and Compliance topics and methodologies
* Experience working with globally distributed teams, and organizationally distributed stakeholders
* Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
* Most importantly, the aptitude to be a good team player, the willingness to learn new Cloud technologies as needed, and a fervent focus on customer success
