Responsibilities

Responsible for developing a strategy to take process monitoring in tile plants to the "next level" using the OSIsoft PI product.

Develop PI monitoring framework for ceramic tile plants. Requires working knowledge of tile production, OSI soft architecture and features, ability to develop new reports and alerts in the PI system, and ability to bring together technical professionals from IT organization and external suppliers to develop new

capabilities or solve problems.

Monitor results of process monitoring and assist in developing business cases for expanding the system, as needed.

+ Initially, develop with plant and corporate teams a vision for use of PI at the manufacturing plant.

+ Train in PI development and achieve competency

+ Define initial target area for the OSIsoft AF jumpstart workshop, and lead the cross-functional team during the exercise.

+ Once vision is implemented, monitor results and define benefits vs. baseline performance in process KPI's, maintenance, productivity.

+ Train employees who utilize system to recognize problems and contact appropriate personnel

+ Monitor process controls and identify defects and out of specification conditions. Prepare reports for management.

+ Expand Data Historian into other plants leading the implementation process.

+ Establish enterprise data historian along with reporting capabilities and dashboards to be reported to executive level.

+ Expand into condition monitoring tools and set up an enterprise control center for all the manufacturing plants.

+ Other duties as directed by manager

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Technology, Electrical Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus. MBA or Masters in Engineering highly preferred.

+ Five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Electrical, networking, and/or tile manufacturing process experience a plus. Green Belt or Black belt certification.

+ Good communication skills; ability to coordinate with technical people from internal IT, plants, external suppliers.

+ Follows instructions, responds to Management direction and takes responsibility for own actions; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

+ Displays original thinking and creativity and generates suggestions for improving work.

+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.

+ Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

+ Understands the underlying strategy from product development, delivery and capability in the marketplace.

+ Proficient in Design software, Pi, Excel, Power Point, PLC operation, Check point

Other:

Job requires clear close, distance and color vision. Ability to adjust focus and bring objects into sharp focus. Requires some walking, standing, sitting, use of finger, handle or feel, reaching, stooping, kneeling and crouching. Physical and work environment in a plant environment
