Overview

Under the supervision of the Privacy Officer, the Privacy Analyst role is to provide support and operations for initiatives critical to information privacy practices. It is expected that this individual will support the implementation of our information privacy strategy goals, which includes information concerning patients, families, partners, associates, and operations. Privacy Analyst will be responsible for conducting privacy training, writing procedures, auditing and monitoring, controls, risk mitigation planning, and other program elements. This experienced professional must be able to analyze, investigate, and respond to complex privacy scenarios with limited supervision, while also adhering to the AltaMed policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information.

Responsibilities Champion good privacy information stewardship and privacy practices across numerous departments. With the assistance of Privacy Officer identify, investigate, resolve, and document privacy violations or breaches. Analyze and support the implementation of privacy laws, regulations, and best practices. Provide analytical support to the Privacy Officer and act as a liaison to reporting departments. Review legal agreements (e.g. business associate agreements, data use agreements, and confidentiality security agreements) for compliance with HIPAA and HITECH laws. Initiate and conduct activities to create information privacy and security awareness and education within AltaMed. Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, standards and procedures for employees. Analyze and monitor privacy compliance, and produce reports necessary to properly manage the privacy program.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience required. Paralegal, Juris Doctor or relevant Master's Degree preferred. A minimum of two years of direct experience working in privacy matters. Exposure to a healthcare setting in a Compliance or Privacy related department is a plus Certification Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)with education and experience relative to the size and scope of the organization is preferable.
