Job Description

This is an opportunity to join the Treasury Technology team during its early stages to enhance current processes and build software tools that will transform Treasury operations. This role will work within the Treasury organization and with our Finance partners in Accounting, Tax, Finance Operations, Legal, and FinTech to drive a multiyear roadmap and product strategy. The role will prioritize between architecting new solutions that scale and working to meet short term goals and needs. They will help build a team to execute on these plans as Amazon scales to a $1T company.

The successful candidate is someone who will have demonstrated experience leading large projects/initiatives, and will have a well-rounded technical background. This will allow them to capitalize on opportunities by designing products and processes which our customers want. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but you can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You will anticipate setbacks, provide escalation management when necessary, and balance key business needs. An ability to take large, complex projects, break them down into manageable pieces, develop a solid execution plan and then deliver them in a timely manner is essential to success in the role.

You will work closely with engineering resources. You weigh in on technology choices and will help Treasury make the right architecture trade-offs. In your role, you will define technical requirements and builds consensus with developers on technical approach. This role will assess when design/implementation choices pose a risk to our ability to innovate/deliver future value. It will recognize when the technical design of a feature is complex, difficult, limits performance, scale, extensibility, and/or our ability innovate in the future. Assesses emerging technologies impact on feature use cases.

You will help automate existing manual processes across Treasury functions to reduce reliance on spreadsheets and increase automated reporting. You will help define the future of Amazon's current Treasury Management Systems and leverage technology to build new capabilities in the areas of in-house banking, management reporting, multi-lateral netting, cash forecasting, and POBO/ROBO.
