AWS Management Tools is revolutionizing managing resources at Cloud scale with safeties. In doing so, customers don't have to choose between innovation and control-they can have both. Customers choose AWS to help manage and govern their AWS and non-AWS resources. With AWS, customers can enable, provision, and operate their environment for both business agility and governance control. AWS provides services for end-to-end IT lifecycle management, helping customers control and secure their environments, reduce costs, simplify compliance, and enhance operational efficiency.
Successful candidates will enjoy diving deep into data, have outstanding analytical skills, excellent communication strategies and confident with executive level reviews. You will thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and are comfortable interacting with highly technical finance, software and networking development teams. You must have the experience and capability to prepare documentation for senior executives and align your roadmap with Amazon's strategic objectives. This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the AWS business.
As a Principal TPM, you will exhibit excellent judgement, anticipate bottlenecks, lead escalations, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. We expect you to have the ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, presentation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.
As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be reporting to General Manager and will be responsible for aligning and driving the AWS Management Tools roadmap across AWS. Management Tools includes AWS CloudFormation, AWS Systems Manager, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config and AWS OpsWorks. Responsibilities include working with product management to define strategy and requirements, identifying and securing commitment from teams across the company for initiatives, driving consensus on the technical approach, setting timelines, and leading cross-functional teams from design through delivery. You'll need to be a strong program manager with technical and business acumen as well as an excellent communicator -- whether working with developers or providing updates to business leadership.
If you are a technical leader with solid track record for delivering complex projects in an agile and fast pace environment, confidant of leading AWS-wide initiatives, communicating crisply with the leadership (SVPs, VPs and Directors), and finally obsessed to innovate on behalf of customers, do not miss out on this opportunity.
