Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering emphasis on GPS Aiding sensors

Headquartered in Anaheim, CA, IEC is a recognized industry leader in defense and security solutions, providing critical technology advancements in the areas of GPS/ Position Navigation and Timing, and Range and Test Solutions.

Position Description:

Strong system engineering background that includes requirement definition, allocation of requirements to components and subsystems; including establishing error budgets for low power inertial sensor systems. Familiarity of existing technologies that include Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), magnetometers and altimeters used to provide navigation for dismounted warfighters in a GPS challenged or denied environment is required. Ideal candidates have recent experience specifying, integrating and evaluating inertial products and/or augmenting COTS products for higher end performance. Knowledge of GPS user equipment is preferred as well as the ability to technically oversee suppliers and subcontractors in the development of battery operated low power inertial systems that provide navigation when GPS is intermittent or denied.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor or Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline, and a minimum of 15 years overall professional experience, and a passion to pursue a career with L-3 IEC Graduate degree or higher a plus.
* A minimum of 7 to 9 years' experience in navigation/GPS systems with emphasis in embedded systems desired.
* Must have experience in requirements development and management
* Requires a strong math background with a desired knowledge of Kalman filters, covariance analysis, digital/analog signal processing and external navigation sensor fusion.

Special Requirements:

An active DoD Secret Clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet and maintain eligibility requirements for access to DoD classified information.
