Raytheon is looking for a systems engineer with insatiable curiosity to join a high-performing team of Systems Engineers, software developers and scientists to address critical national security challenges. The successful candidate will have a knack for taking groundbreaking science and identifying pragmatic approaches to applying it to intelligence gaps.

The candidate will perform systems integration tasks for a collection of advanced research efforts in an Agile development environment. The successful candidate must be adaptable and comfortable working side by side with the customer and be able to integrate solutions from multiple contractors into the architecture. This is a non-traditional systems engineering role. Tasks will vary from sprint to sprint and include technology research, component design, performance analysis and experiment or exercise design.

This position requires the ability to quickly gain a broad range of technical knowledge of the system, communicate effectively with both the customer, other company teams, and the factory development team, and work in a dynamic environment as a member of a small team. The candidate performs a wide variety of tasks in coordination with other systems engineers on a diverse, multi-contractor team and will also coordinate with users and customer representatives. This work will be performed in an existing and dynamic R&D environment demanding rapid response and flexibility.

This position requires a US Government SSBI clearance investigation < 5 years ago

Validated TSSCI clearances are eligible for sign on bonus amounts up to $40,000.

This work will be based at the customer site in Chantilly, VA

Required Skills:

* 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or other related engineering roles
* Experience with the intelligence community
* Ability to provide systems engineering and integrator support
* Ability to analyze system and software requirement and objectives
* Ability to operate in a dynamic R&D environment
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
* Experience with Agile development processes
* Demonstrated self-starter - proactive in determining goals and objectives and pursuing the necessary course of action
* Strong communication skills to enable effective bridging of programmatic and technical domains
* Understand operational needs and ability to translate them into system CONOPS and design
* US Government SSBI clearance investigation < 5 years ago

Desired Skills:

* Experience with DevOps
* Demonstrated experience working directly with the GEOINT and/or SIGINT customer

BS in Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems, Science, Mathematics
