Job Description

Responsibilities

The Principal Solutions Architect will provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of our business, specializing in collaborating with key personnel to define business goals and creating the infrastructure and technology solutions that supports those goals. You will work with our various businesses to solve complex technical challenges and provide support with regards to standards and best engineering practices spanning the entire organization. You will develop technical solutions and work with both internal and external vendors to implement them. Job responsibilities include assisting with development and execution of the strategic technology architecture roadmap, identifying gaps and developing methods for improvement. The Principal Solutions Architect is also responsible for leading the technical architectural design and ensuring successful execution of multiple concurrent technology projects. A strong background in project development life cycle will be required.

Job Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the overall design and implementation of technology projects ranging from system level to large scale facility level projects. This includes definition of project scope and planning, requirements definition, analysis and documentation.
* Work with local tech leads to break down larger requirements into manageable tasks and design technical implementation details.
* Document solutions for external communication, internal implementation, and knowledge transfer.
* Ongoing development and governance of OTS technical design and documentation standards
* Provide solution architectures that are in alignment with OTS strategic roadmap as well as NBCU's architecture principals and standards. Follow governance and compliance models that have been set forth as well as contributing to reference architectures.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the OTS division as well as the overall NBCU technology leadership community in order to leverage best practice and synergy opportunities. Cultivate strategic technology relationships with key vendor partners across the industry.
* Learn and keep pace with the latest advances in the field; analyze current trends and emerging technologies and make recommendations for inclusion in strategic plans; rapidly grasp new technologies to support the environment and contribute to project deliverables.
* Provide overall technical leadership and be dedicated to advancing the technical knowledge and skills of the entire division through intentional and ongoing coaching, training and knowledge share efforts.

Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, engineering, or equivalent experience


* 10+ years of experience designing and implementing advanced technical systems for the media industry


* Experience with virtualization and cloud hosting technologies, and the application of these technologies in media environments


* Proficient in network design and implementation, including IP Fabrics for Media


* Proficient in Linux and Windows OS including CLI, basic commands and scripting


* Experience with advanced business process analysis and solution design


* Proven track record of delivering complex large scale technology projects on time and on budget

* Advanced knowledge of information security policy, standards and technology, and their application within media technology infrastructure.


* Technology or platform certifications (e.g. Cisco, AWS, VMWare, Microsoft).
