On the OneDrive and SharePoint team, we believe cutting edge technology can help our customers thrive in an information dense world. We are excited about transforming our customers into "AI natives," where technology augments their ability to achieve more with the files, photos, videos, lists, 3D objects, and other content they need to get their jobs done. We are forming a brand-new team focused on Content Services and Search in order to accelerate our customers' digital transformation to the cloud. Building on top of SharePoint, Microsoft Search, Azure Cognitive Services and more, we will use cutting edge machine learning, computer vision, natural language, and signals intelligence services from across the company and industry to tackle the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) market. ECM fundamentally helps the companies to organize their content into knowledge topics, connected into a knowledge graph, and make company knowledge readily available at the fingertips of every employee. With the combination of cutting-edge mining techniques and crowd sourcing we achieve coverage and relevance of the knowledge graph. This is a $80B market opportunity where we are already a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader but need to reinvent ourselves to stay relevant to our customers' changing business needs in the cloud.

About the Team

Join us from day one of this new team within the well-established ODSP organization. We'll approach our problem space with empathy for the change our customers are undergoing with the cloud. We'll build partnerships with teams across Microsoft, functioning as scenario and customer experts that can integrate leading AI and ML tech to solve real customer problems. We'll continue to embrace the Microsoft philosophy of an inclusive culture and growth mindset, so we bring fresh perspective to this area of our product portfolio. We'll leverage our marketing, PM and business strategy colleagues to ensure we have a concrete end to end plan to bring our solutions to market and get rapid adoption. Our data science team will keep us on track and usage insights will frame our backlog conversations. In short, we are a modern customer focused engineering team within one of the fastest growing business services in the world.

Required qualifications:

* BS in Computer Science or related technical field
* 9+ years of Professional Software design and development experience with at least one of C/C++/C#/Java
* Prior experience with developing large high-volume services, with service-oriented development and cloud-based systems.
* Demonstrated commitment to the success of others, as a leader in the team you will be expected to mentor and manage junior developers.
* Great collaboration skills, we have partner teams across the company and globe that you will be working closely with.
* Strong technical abilities, problem solving, design, rapid prototyping, coding and debugging skills.
* Good communication skills and a track record of cross-group/cross-discipline collaboration.
* Quick learner who thrives in an ambiguous environment.
* Team player with a positive attitude.
* Excellent collaboration skills and ability to be adaptable and agile in development
* Demonstrated experience as a technical lead/architect.

Preferred qualifications

* Experience with JavaScript/REACT, ECM and Document Management Technologies, Azure, Microsoft technology stacks

You will be joining a brand-new team in ODSP, helping to build and grow a team of great full stack engineers to power experiences and build new advanced content service capabilities and feature features while integrating with large scale services such as OneDrive and SharePoint Online. As a Principal Engineer on the team, you will be asked to own design and architecture of a major feature area, helping us figure out the core capabilities we need to build and how we build it.

In addition to working with a team of amazing engineers, engineering managers, PM and designers, you will also engage closely with our partners across Microsoft to build rich Content Services and Advanced ECM features and core capabilities that power intelligent experiences.
